Much of my work is figurative, ranging from the narrative to formal portraiture. I prefer to work from life, if only as a source of photographs, which I use almost exclusively to develop the final image. But I am more concerned with the emotive force of paintings than strict adherence to actuality. Recently, I have begun to explore landscapes in a similar way.
