Jane Evans
I am studying for a degree in Fine Art at Sunderland University. My
work explores the relationship between colour, light, space and form, the
symbolism of colour and how it affects people in its presence. I am interested in exploring the visual aesthetics of industrial materials, this has enabled me to create work suggesting chaos which I feel is balanced out by the way in which I use colour to bring about order and calm. Beautiful shadows are created when light is directed at my sculptures enhancing the curves, lines, spaces and colour. I see a relationship between the physical lines of the materials I use and their shadows, a combination of which creates abstract work. Firstly I create work in 3D and my 2D work evolves through this.
