Lindsey Starborn
I live and work on the edge of Teesdale on a very windy
hill with panoramic views from East to West. It is impossible for me not to be
aware of the elements or to be influenced by them.
I work with mixed media and love the abstraction of
process, the alchemy of paint and water; of clay, glaze and kiln. The organic
distortions from initial representations delight me, are these random effects
or opportunities for my subconscious influences to surface?
People tell me they see many things in my paintings, faces,
birds, animals, dragons… all are fey or fantastical.
